Support CivicSignal
CivicSignal is a non-profit, public-interest project. A fact-checker’s credibility starts with being open about who pays for it — so here is exactly that.
Who funds us today
CivicSignal currently receives no cash donations. The platform is supported in kind by CortexLabs, which donates the hosting infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and engineering maintenance that keep the service running. Our data sources — the Office for National Statistics, Ministry of Justice, Home Office, and Hansard — are free public records. The remaining running costs (AI model usage for grounding claims against official data) are currently in the region of a few pounds per month, funded personally by the project’s founder.
No funder — including CortexLabs — has any role in which claims we check, which verdicts we reach, or what we publish. Verdicts are determined solely by comparison against cited official data, and every card shows its sources.
Donations
We are registering CivicSignal as a UK community interest company (CIC). Donations will open once that registration completes, so that every contribution is received and accounted for by the non-profit entity rather than any individual. When donations open, this page will list what they fund and we will publish a simple annual summary of income and spending.
Donations open after CIC registration completes.
