Corrections policy
Every CivicSignal verdict is evidence-led and cites the public sources it relies on. When we get a fact wrong, we say so, we fix it, and we keep the record of the fix.
Our commitment
CivicSignal compares public statements against authoritative public data. Each verdict shows the sources it is based on, so anyone can check our work. Being open to correction is part of that: if the evidence shows we got something factually wrong, we will correct it.
Think we got something wrong?
Email corrections@civicsignal.uk and tell us which fact check you mean and what you believe is wrong. Pointing us to public evidence helps, but it is not required.
What happens next
- We review the challenge against the cited sources within 7 days.
- If we were wrong, we correct the card and mark it “Corrected”, with the date of the correction and a note explaining what changed.
- If the mistaken finding was shared in a comment, we post a follow-up correction in the same place.
- We never remove the record of the correction. The original mistake and the fix stay visible together.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to our verdicts and the data behind them, not to differences of opinion. We do not judge anyone’s intent — only whether statements match the public evidence. If you disagree with a verdict but the cited data supports it, we will explain our reasoning rather than change the card.
